TARLAC CITY, March 25 (PIA) — A total of 35 military officers and enlisted personnel of the Northern Luzon Command (NOLCOM) participated in the United States Marine Corps-facilitated combat photography workshop held in the command’s headquarters in Camp Aquino, Tarlac.
NOLCOM Unified Command staff chief Colonel Gerard V. Velez explained that the workshop aims to enhance the skills as well as to imbibe into the minds of the soldiers the importance of combat photography not only in the documentation of events but also in intelligence build-up and psychological operations.
Velez added that “military photographers should be able to adapt to varying situations on the ground because that simple apparatus they are holding can spell the difference especially during tactical operations.”
Aside from imparting essential techniques in combat photography, the US Marine Corps also taught the participants how to make lay-out designs for tarpaulins, billboards, and other visuals using Photoshop. (WLB/CLJD PIA 3 Pampanga)
