Pure IXUS design
Reflecting the design heritage of the original
IXUS, the curved square design of the Digital
IXUS 85 IS is set off perfectly with a bold lens
ring detail and edging in piano black or silver.
10.0 Megapixels
A 10.0 Megapixel sensor captures images in fine
detail, enabling creative trimming and poster
size printing.
3x optical Image Stabilizer lens
Advanced UA (Ultra-High Refractive Index
Aspherical) lens technology fits a powerful 3x
optical zoom lens into the compact form of the
Digital IXUS 85 IS. An optical Image Stabilizer
(IS), helps you capture blur-free images in
low-light and when shooting with the zoom.
Motion Detection Technology
There’s no need to worry about blur with Motion
Detection Technology. This clever feature
compensates for camera shake and subject
movement while maximising image quality.
Face Detection Technology
Face Detection Technology ensures superb people
shots by automatically setting optimum focus,
exposure, flash and white balance. Face Select
and Track lets you choose and track your primary
subject, so you never lose a special face in the
crowd.
Red-Eye Correction
Red-Eye Correction quickly and easily removes
red-eye in camera. It can be set to
automatically remove red-eye as you shoot or
during playback mode, making natural eyes easy
to achieve even when using the flash.
DIGIC III and iSAPS
Canon's DIGIC III processor provides lightning
quick responses, superb image quality and
advanced noise reduction for sharper, clearer
images. iSAPS technology uses shooting scene
data to optimise camera settings even before a
shot is taken.
2.5" PureColor LCD II
A high resolution 2.5" PureColor LCD II screen
gives an exceptionally wide viewing angle,
perfect for sharing your photos with a group,
plus impressive colour contrast, keeping the
screen visible under bright light. An optical
viewfinder (OVF) gives you additional
flexibility.
Shooting Modes and My Colors
19 shooting modes include Sunset, Kids & Pets
and Snow Special Scene modes which optimise
camera settings for the easy capture of popular
subjects. My Colors in-camera photo effects can
be applied during or after shooting.
Movie Options
Movie modes include Long Play (LP) for VGA
(30fps) clips that use half the normal memory
card space. Capture a gradual scene like a
sunrise or blooming flowers for accelerated
playback with Time Lapse movie.
