Notice the cool looking overly used stripes on thousands web 2.0 (ish) sites that pop up each day? Well, these stripes were used to be made only by web2.0 gurus and graphic designers. Today, no, no, no. Ordinary folks can now do the trick and create generation-2 website backgrounds.
Go here and try it for yourself.
I used and it’s good for simple requirement. I created a striped background and used it here, on this site. BTW, I was the one who did a quick re-shake and bake website of ABU.

Hehehe, for a blog that’s now on a semi-comatose (2 freaking posts per month), this blog still ranks 42nd under the TECHNOLOGY BLOGS category of the Philippines Top Blogs.
This blog rank inspire me to write even more. By that, I mean 4 times a month!
Seriously, I’d really like to write (and read, and do research) more but my workload is terrible. Hopefully man, hopefully.

I’d love to talk about this even more but these articles were written by more qualified dudes and dudettes so check them out. I’ll just put short little notes. You might find these news informative and relevant to what we are all into nowadays… the technology!
Toshiba launches stylish notebook PCs
I promised myself, my next notebook will be TOSHIBA. Gone thru the IBM old stock, ECS, MSI, COMPAQ route… my next one is again, Toshiba. This news of Toshiba now integrating style onto to their rock solid notebooks is the clincher. BTW, the COMPAQ line is also fine, but my preference now is TOSHIBA.

If my bro-in-law (or my sis) decides to break that traditional passing of the torch, err, old phone, to me, I got one wonderful option come end of year. Switch to an iPhone legitimately bundled and carried by Globe Telecom (I’ve been a Globe user ever since this mobile world began). Story of Globe getting Apple iPhone via Singtel here.
But still, I prefer my Bro-in-Law’s “old” blackberry using my dirt cheap Globe Telecom post paid plan than be hip and “in” and pay gigantic monthly subscription with no assurance that Globe gets iTunes too.
We’ll see how this develops.

Now ecBuy Philippines is getting MP5 Players quotation from China suppliers.
What is MP5 players anyways?
Is it a new digital player that plays MP5 music format. Wait, there is no MP5 file (not yet anyways)!
One supplier supplied as with this explanation…
MP5 players usually have DV cameras built-in. MP5 players now play more media formats and even more functions (so, wait for the MP5 player 15 in 1 sales pitch from sellers!) now. Also, I read something like, straight frm an internet download, MP5 player user say in the Philippines, can instantly play the music. Meaning, no more file conversion. That’s neat. Less support for sellers like us.
And of course, as I saw that new MP3 line up, they are expandable via memory card slots (micro SD, SD, MMC, etc.) and doesn’t LCD will be 2.4 inches and above.
In the near future, I am sure, MP5 players will flood the Philippines. Don’t worry, ecBuy Philippines will surely be in the MP5 Player flooding scene.

Not able to blog these days. Too much load really. But this one is hard to pass up. This news could be the biggest internet happening of the year, if not of all time.
Yahoo Inc (YHOO.O) confirmed on Friday that it had received an unsolicited bid from Microsoft Corp (MSFT.O) to acquire the company and that its board of directors would consider the $44.6 billion deal. Yahoo said in a statement that its board would evaluate the proposal “carefully and promptly in the context of Yahoo’s strategic plans and pursue the best course of action to maximize long-term value for shareholders.”
Personally and honestly, I don’t like the deal to happen. I’d like to see competition. Ultimately, a three cornered fight amongst YAHOO, GOOGLE and Microsoft (MSN, Live) will benefit us users.
Yahoo news link.
Nothing concrete yet with the deal. The world is waiting.
